Children enthusiastically embrace Russian language and culture in Kyrgyzstan
Sep 18, 2023
Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan), Sep 18 (ANI/ TV BRICS): The great and mighty language is learnt right during outdoor warm-ups, and Pushkin's poems are recited to the beat. This is how classes are organised at the "zhalyn" and "Mayak" camps in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. Volunteers – participants of the unique international programme "Russian Language Ambassadors in the World" - work with the children. The project was initiated by the Pushkin State Institute of the Russian language and its goal is to make as many people abroad as possible learn about the Russian language and culture. To play the famous song "Valenki" on spoons or to make a national toy amulet - every participant of the classes can put their hand to art here. Russian culture and language, the kids admit, are familiar to many of them almost from nappies. That's why the participants of the classes plunge into the creative process effortlessly and at ease. Not only to talk about the traditions of their homeland, but also to get to know the customs and sights of the host country, and even to taste it. A warm welcome was also prepared for the volunteers. Cultural exchange is an important part of the programme. This summer 1700 children joined the cultural and educational expedition "the Russian Language Ambassadors in the World" in the republic of Kyrgyzstan.
