Goa, Jan 21 (ANI): Stressing the cooperative relations between India and France, Ambassador of France to India Emmanuel Lenain on January 21 in Goa hinted towards the potential for an improved partnership between both countries that can even replace Russia. Calling his country a ‘great option’, the French Envoy addressed India’s lookout for diversity when its suppliers are concerned. Lenain also expressed France’s support for ‘Make in India’ while also calling out for the co-development and co-production of equipment. “Obviously, we have great cooperation on strategy issues with India, and there is a lot of trusts that makes it possible for the countries to commit for years or decades and for a successful defence equipment programme. In the past years, we have seen many successful deliveries for the Air force. No other country is so much committed to make the best technology available to India without restrictions. We not only support ‘Make in India’ but also want to co-develop and co-produce equipment. India is looking to diversify its suppliers and France is great option for working on major equipment cooperation,” Lenain said.
