Gurez (J&K), Jan 31 (ANI): Women in Jammu and Kashmir’s Gurez appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army on January 31 of their steps taken in view to promote women empowerment and skill development in Jammu & Kashmir. “The initiative by the Indian Army was done for skill development and women empowerment in the region… We have been working here for two years,” said a trainee. “I thank the Indian Army for the initiative, they the materials from Jammu and we sell them in nearby local villages. There are more than 50 girls but currently, only 10 are working,” said another trainee. The Indian Army has taken a significant step towards empowering women in the remote village of Kanzalwan in Gurez by setting up a "Kishanganga Women Employment Initiative" detergent unit. This initiative not only aims to create employment opportunities for local women but also allows them to become self-sufficient and financially independent by making a detergent “Harmukh Sheen" brand. It is indeed a positive and impactful move towards empowering women and driving positive change in the region.
