J&K Police launches major crackdown on narco terror, 318 held

Baramulla (J&K), July 16 (ANI): Baramulla Police started a massive crackdown against narco-terrorism in the Baramulla district of North Kashmir. It resulted a huge consignment busted by police at various locations in recent days from Uri along the Line of Control (LoC) to other parts of Baramulla district over the last few days. Pakistan-based handlers, as part of a conspiracy, are using smugglers to push narcotics into Jammu and Kashmir to get the younger generation addicted to drugs. Notably, 284 drug peddlers have been arrested and 34 notorious drug peddlers have been booked under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, (PIT-NDPS Act). The dedicated teams deployed by the Baramulla Police consist of experienced officers and undercover agents who will discreetly gather intelligence on the drug mafia's operations, networks, and supply chains.
