Kupwara (J&K), September 26 (ANI): Developmental work increased after the ceasefire between India and Pakistan in border areas of the Keran sector. With the help of a peaceful atmosphere, a lot of development has been done, and other works are going on in the Keran sector of Kupwara district. Residents of Keran also applauded the positive change. Keran, which happens to be the last village of the border area in Kupwara district, was hit badly during thirty years of turmoil, which resulted in people living in horrible atmosphere and facing tough times due to the cross-border shelling. However, after the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the situation of border villages in the Keran sector is stable, and the atmosphere is also peaceful. So after the ceasefire, a lot of things have changed in Keran, including a number of developmental projects, including macadamized roads, banking facilities, proper electricity, networking, communication, and new food points for visitors. One of the residents said, “Life has changed a lot in the last few years it has become more peaceful. Tourism has also flourished after 2019, before that we didn’t have regular electricity as well all of that has changed in the last few years.” “Due to the peaceful atmosphere that has been created in the last 4 years, today development activities are being carried out smoothly. There are no Ceasefire violations today it’s completely safe to visit Keran and I would request every citizen of the country to visit Karen. The peaceful atmosphere is the reason behind the happy faces and infrastructural development and I’m pretty sure that in the next two years, we’ll see a total facelift of the Keran Valley” said Ayushi Sudan Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara.
