NEET-NET row to pro-tem Speaker’s appointment, Opp ready to counter Govt in 1st Parliament session

New Delhi, June 24 (ANI): The countdown begins for the first parliament session after the formation of Modi 3.0 Govt for the historic 3rd time. The New Parliament building will host the 18th Lok Sabha Session on June 24 after NDA formed the govt for the 3rd term. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with MPs of his NDA Govt, will take oath in Parliament. Pro-tem Speaker of the lower house, Bhartruhari Mahtab, will call upon PM Modi, the leader of the LS, to take oath as a member of the House. The ongoing NEET-UG, UGC-NET row offers an opportunity for the Opposition to storm the 1st session of the 18th Lok Sabha. Although the LS Speaker will be elected on June 26, loud protests against the appointment of the Pro-tem speaker are also expected. The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha will be held from June 24 and it will be concluded on July 3. The 264th Session of the Rajya Sabha will also commence on June 27 and conclude on July 3. President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to address the joint sitting of both houses of Parliament on June 27. The last session of the 17th Lok Sabha (Budget session) was held between January 31 and February 10, 2024.
