Anantnag (J&K), Oct 18 (ANI): Under Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), a model school for tribal students is helping poor students in Anantnag district of South Kashmir. The objective is to provide quality middle and higher level education to Scheduled Tribes (ST) or Gujjar-Bakarwal community students in remote areas. The facilities which school provides include free education, boarding, lodging, uniforms and stationery, separate hostels for boys and girls. Compulsory or active one-hour participation in sports activities is also done in school. The students lauded the step taken by the J&K administration as these types of facilities were not available earlier to the students of tribal communities.
