Search, rescue teams are at spot as helicopter carrying Iran President Raisi crashes

Source: IRINN via Reuters Source: Iranian Red Crescent Society New Delhi, May 20 (ANI): Rescue and search operation commenced following the helicopter crash carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on May 19. Amid the bad weather, rescue team searched near the scene of a crash in Varzeqan County, East Azerbaijan Province. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s condition was unclear, according to state news reports, which also aired prayers for his safety. Ebrahim Raisi met with the accident while returning from a ceremony to inaugurate a dam on Iran’s border with Azerbaijan Republic. Iranian state media reported that bad weather was the cause of the crash and was complicating rescue efforts. As per Iranian Red Crescent Society, at least 46 teams have been deployed for rescue ops, but harsh weather was making it difficult, state media said. Meanwhile, the chief of staff of Iran's army ordered all the resources of the army, Revolutionary Guard to be put in search operations
