Srinagar Airport launches ‘Drop & Go’ facility for hassle-free travel

Srinagar, June 10 (ANI): Srinagar Airport introduced a ‘Drop & Go’ facility, aimed at reducing waiting times and enhancing passenger convenience. The initiative aims to streamline the vehicle checking, baggage screening, and personal frisking processes, which have been causing significant delays for passengers seeking entry to the airport.Under the new system, passengers can leave their vehicles at the drop gate, where they will undergo a swift baggage screening process using X-ray technology. Following the screening, passengers can conveniently board the newly introduced eco-friendly battery-operated e-carts stationed at the Drop Gate. These complimentary e-carts are designed to transport passengers along with their baggage directly to the terminal building.By introducing this service, the airport aims to reduce delays at the Drop Gate by approximately 40 per cent to 50 per cent, thereby enhancing overall operational efficiency. Arriving passengers can also avail of this service. To initiate the program, the airport has deployed four state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly e-carts on an experimental basis.
