New Delhi, Apr 9 (ANI): Researchers have found that a low-fat vegan diet improves joint pain in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The study was published in the journal 'American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine'. Rheumatoid arthritis is a common autoimmune disease that typically causes joint pain, swelling, and eventually permanent joint damage. The vegan diet also led to greater decreases in DAS28 in a sub-analysis. In addition to reductions in swelling, body weight decreased by about 14 pounds on average on vegan diet.
