Terror attacks jolt J&K, 4 dead in Rajouri, CRPF vehicle attacked in Srinagar

Rajouri (Jammu & Kashmir), January 2 (ANI): As many as four people were killed and six others were injured in a terror attack in Rajouri. The security forces have launched an operation to neutralize terrorists who attacked three houses in Dangri area of Jammu and Kashmir, Police said on Monday. On the other hand, a grenade was hurled targeting a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) vehicle in Srinagar on Sunday night. The incident occurred at MK Chowk in Srinagar. However, the grenade missed the target and caused injury to a local boy. In Rajouri, a firing incident was reported in Dangri area on Sunday. Four people were killed and six injured, police reported. The firing was done by two terrorists at three houses separated at a distance of around 50 metres from each other at upper Dangri village. Meanwhile, two injured were airlifted to Jammu for further treatment at Government Medical College Hospital. "As per the information, two terrorists came and targeted three houses in Upper Dangri area. Four casualties were reported. The search operation is on. Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Army troops have cordoned off the area. We will try to neutralize the two terrorists soon," said Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone. The grenade attack took place near the crowded area of MK Chowk. "There was an attempt to throw a grenade on a CRPF vehicle in a crowded area of MK Chowk, Srinagar. It missed the target and caused a minor splinter injury to one local boy. Operations were launched in the area to nab the culprit," said Srinagar Police.
