Washington DC (USA), June 17 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a historic state visit to the United States on June 20. This visit marks a significant departure from previous visits by Indian Prime Ministers, making it a watershed moment in the bilateral relationship between the two countries. The White House is all decked up to host PM Modi on his first official state visit since he assumed office in 2014. The White House has described this upcoming visit as a reaffirmation of the “deep and close partnership” between the two nations, underscoring their shared commitment to a “free, open, prosperous, and secure Indo-Pacific.” PM Modi is visiting USA at the invitation of US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. The visit will commence in New York where the PM will lead the celebrations of the International Day of Yoga at the UN Headquarters on June 21. The PM will then travel to Washington D.C., where he will be accorded a Ceremonial Guard of Honour at the White House on June 22, and meet President Biden to continue their high-level dialogue. President Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden will host a State Dinner in honour of the PM the same evening.
